I’m not the least bit surprised if a game based on a newly released movie or is a tie-in story related to a theatrical release turns out to be a horrible gaming experience and a shameless way to rake in extra cash.

Then again, a very rare few movie-based games actually surprised us with fun gameplay elements that made it worth buying.

The game’s main story mode follows the story straight out of the film including cut scenes that look like they came directly from the film’s animation.

In the story, a scientific genius and head of the Ministry of Science named Doctor Tenma calls the world’s brightest scientific minds to a conference involving two mysterious elements of power.

During the presentation, however, a greedy corporate president steals one element and places it in a robot that runs amuck.

The good Doctor then builds a robot that bears a striking resemblance to his dead son and gives him the second element of power.

As a result, Astro is born with all the memories of Doctor Tenma’s deceased son as well as sporting a few cool upgrades such as arm cannons, booster rockets in his feet and, well, butt machine guns.

We follow Astro as he discovers flight for the first time as well as his powerful moves and built-in weapons he uses for good.

The game plays like an old school side-scrolling action game that mixes flight combat with ground brawling action.

While on the ground, Astro uses the same weapons he does while taking flight only this time he adds his butt machine guns as well as a few moves like punches, flip kicks, drill attacks and you can even grab an enemy and throw them.

On the ground, Astro can even use his booster rockets to avoid enemy attack as well as reach platforms you can’t reach with normal jumps.

Sadly, while it’s fun to blast and fly your way through the levels and face off against numerous enemies at once, even the retro-styled action can get old really fast.

Younger gamers will love bashing robots but by the time they get to the third level they have pretty much seen and done everything the game has to offer.

Surprisingly fun in the old school sort of way, Astro Boy The Video Game has some great brawling and aerial combat gameplay but, sadly enough, the repetitive levels and other problems fail to keep this game fun for very long.

Based on the CG-animated film, Astro Boy lets players experience the exhilarating and action-packed life of one of the most iconic superheroes of all time.

Engage in death defying aerial combat in the skies above Metro City as you battle against the evil robot forces of President Stone. Access Astro's complete arsenal of weapons, including finger lasers and his trusty arm cannon, and jet around environments using Astro's signature rocket boosters.

It seems Astro Boy returns every decade or so, and now American film makers have retooled the iconic character for another reboot.

Albeit low budget looking and feeling, High Voltage Software put more life into Astro Boy: The Video Game than we’d expect from a movie tie-in.

This adds a fantastic risk/reward angle to combat; near death experiences require you to get even closer to death as you let enemy attacks build up around you.

Switching between flying and ground levels keeps the game enjoyable longer than one would guess, but some levels drag on and overstay their welcome.

The Astro Boy coating is there so kids ask mommy and daddy to spend their holiday bonuses on it, but High Voltage Software felt nice enough to sneak in a fun game too.

All of Astro's powers are on display in the game adaptation of the film, but for all the character's superhero-like qualities, the Astro Boy game is far from super in its execution.

Stiff, on-foot based stages and repetitive side-scrolling shooter levels don't capitalize on Astro's formidable skills and the generally muddy visuals do little justice to the film's clean, vibrant style.

After presenting an introductory cinematic spliced together from the film, Astro's adventure begins in his father's home just before he discovers his flight capabilities (and the fact that he's a robot).

Even in this brief on-foot tutorial level, some of the game's mechanical shortcomings immediately surface, most notably how Astro Boy engages in hand-to-hand combat.

Granted, there's some relief when a second player joins in (he or she can pick off extra robots that might sneak up on you), and Astro has other standard attacks--such as the finger laser--that don't require close proximity to the bevy of robots out to wreck his face.

But, despite the fact that you can find hidden upgrades for these attacks, they're less effective and powerful than just a good fist to the metallic gut.

There are some light platforming elements involved as well, but the fear of falling down a pit is doused when you realize that Astro can simply fly back out of any potential hazard and the penalty for doing so is just a small amount of health.

The side-scrolling shooter levels interspersed throughout the game fare better when it comes to controls, if only because you don't have to punch anything.

Still, these levels leave much to be desired in terms of variety--most of the enemies are recycled repeatedly and follow fairly predictable attack patterns, making it easy to avoid just about anything they throw at you.

Additionally, there's no interaction with background elements or, more specifically, there aren't any environmental hazards to worry about--most are just full-motion video backdrops that are similar to those found in shooters that arrived with the advent of CD-based media.

The one aspect of the game that lends some variety to either type of level is Astro's special move system, but even that doesn't reveal anything especially impressive.

When you use a special attack, such as his rear machine guns or his healing skill, it uses energy from your meter, but you get less energy from enemies by using these skills than if you defeat them with regular attacks.

Still, it's easy to recharge the meter to full before reaching a boss fight where you can, in most cases, continually use Astro's arm cannons to deal with them.

Likewise, the voice work (by actors who lent their voices to the film) are just there as a means to remind people that this game is indeed based on a feature film and their performances reflect that fact.

I could prattle on about licensed games, or Osamu Tezuka, or I could just skip to the chase and say: Astro Boy: The Video Game is a mediocre brawler with some pretty good shooter levels.

Kristin Bell, who plays Cora in the film, explains the plot during the silent clips, making it feel more like an Entertainment Tonight preview than a cutscene.

It could arguably be called an homage to early anime to have the character models move their mouths when they're not actually saying anything, but realistically it's just lazy programming.

High Voltage Software has said they designed the game with inspiration from Treasure's Astro Boy: The Omega factor for the Game Boy Advance. Unfortunately it doesn't quite have the style and fun that the previous game did.

Annoyingly, Astro has a shorter reach than his enemies, which leads to lots of instances where you get punched in the head before you get a chance to do something.

Enemies and projectiles can continue to advance when you're shooting lasers, and the only way to repel things is to use one of the super attacks.

It's fast paced, there's a lot more going on, and it's way more satisfying to watch things explode in the air than fall over and blink away.

The game isn't hard at all, but some of the bosses can be a pain in the machinegun-loaded-butt and having a friend instantly makes the fight a cakewalk.

If you know a kid that will crack up every time Astro yells "Butt shot!" then you could squeeze a couple hours of enjoyment out of this, but for everyone else who enjoys good games from High Voltage, just keep flying.

Anime is animation originating from Japan. It has a huge following and not surprisingly considering it seems so real yet unique when you're watching it. There's every style imaginable available to watch right from comedy to more adult versions. It's used in television series, films, videos, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases.

Think of Astro Boy. Astro boy was a Japanese manga series, manga meaning cartoons and comics, and the television program first broadcast in Japan from 1963 to 1966. The story follows the adventures of a fictional robot named Astro Boy and some other characters along the way. I remember watching Astro Boy just as much as I remember watching Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock so it must have been on those Saturday mornings I spent watching my favorite cartoon line up.

I can actually still hear his voice. Generally, the most common form of anime drawings are exaggerated physical features such as large eyes and big hair. The large eyes style, drawn on many anime and manga characters, allow characters to show emotions distinctly. A wide variety of recognizable changes to the characters eyes can happen when their mood or their emotions changes. Love-hearts and doe-eyes indicate an infatuation, while stars indicate that the character is star-struck.

Spirals indicate confusion or dizziness, while flames or wide empty semicircles indicate that the character is angry or vengeful. When dead, unconscious or stunned, X’s are sometimes used as an indication of the state. These are all recognizable. I'm sure you are picturing a story you've seen while you are reading this. Females have bigger eyes than males to make them look more childish and therefore girly.

Anime characters can use a wide variety of facial expressions to denote moods and thoughts. Characters that are shocked or surprised will perform a “face fault”, in which they display an extremely exaggerated expression like the wide open mouth that doesn't move. Angry characters may exhibit a “vein” or “stress mark” effect, where lines in place of bulging veins will appear on their forehead.

Sweat drops are a familiar sight when it comes to these characters. They can be drawn with one or more prominent beads of sweat on their brow or forehead. This represents a broad spectrum of emotions, including embarrassment, exasperation, confusion, and shock. This doesn't seem to happen in real life. At least it's never happened to me but we always seem to know what it means when we're watching it. Bright blushing represents embarrassment or romantic feelings. That might be a little more of a real human quality; at least for me.

Even though these videos or shows are exaggerated and probably wouldn't happen in your day to day life, they still have a charm about them that makes you want to watch them and makes it easy to relate to them as well.

Manga is basically a kind of graphic comic, originally written in Japanese and then translated to English. Manga has found considerable popularity in the markets of America as they are quite different from our traditional American comics.

We being Americans usually perceive that comics are meant for children. But the trends are changing with the introduction of talented writers such as Alan Moore, Craig Thompson and Neil Gaiman. In Japan, Manga is read and enjoyed by all age groups, from school going children to proficient adults.

Basically Manga can be related to animated movies and like movies Manga also comes in variety of subjects such as dramas, romance, horror, mystery, science fiction, sports, comedies, fantasies and action flicks.

During all these years, Manga has made its own space in the American markets. Manga existed from a long time but it was only in the last one or two decades that it gained such wide popularity. The very first one introduced to American was known as "Four immigrants" and this Manga was drawn by Yoshitaka Kiyama, a Japanese art student. The more popular collections of Manga include The Legend of Kamui, Mai the Psychic Girl, Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z.

One of the most amazing things about Manga is that they are read in the direction opposite to our American Books. These books start from the back and are therefore read in reverse direction. Unlike American comic titles, the titles of Japanese Magna classically are drawn and written by one person. Therefore, these books are more art coherent than ours.

Each Manga contains a large variety of subjects covered. Many Manga contain adventurous stories in which teens encounter evil forces, whereas some historic Manga contain the details of various historic eras. Manga are also based on relationship stories and the stories related to parenting. In fact according to the taste of different readers Manga comes in countless themes.

Most Manga are much smaller in size as compared to American Comic Books but the length of each issue is about 150-200 pages than our 20-30. In Japan, these lengthy comic books are very popular and are generally put out each month. Some modern Manga are even influenced by popular Japanese arts like Yokai (Monsters and ghosts) and Shunga (the erotic art).

Osamu Tezuka is believed to be the father of Today's Manga. His most famous creation was Astro Boy also known as Mighty Atom. Modern Manga are usually unpredictable and hence capture the interest of the readers for as very long time. The characters of Manga comics are drawn by using simple animated looks that gives them an energetic appearance. The stories are twisty and full of turns. Even superheroes die and sometimes also come back to life, the bad guys do not get defeated easily and the remarkable action keeps the readers hooked.

Manga are in fact a wonderful source of having a close look at Japanese culture, writing styles and literature. The most recent Manga Movie that has been scheduled to be released somewhere in 2009 is "The Watchmen". The Manga characters have been so popular these days that kids simply love to put their posters on walls and wallpapers on their PCs. Some of the characters that have driven children crazy include Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. Here’s a review of the movie:

Similar to the Transformers films, the new Astro Boy film is more concerned with finding a new contemporary audience, who may have never heard of the robot boy character before, rather than providing a nostalgia trip for older audiences who grew up with the original character. The good news is that the new Astro Boy film is far superior to the Transformers films and while some of us may feel a little sad that the theme music from the original television cartoon doesn't even appear during the end credits of the new film, this new Astro Boy is still a tremendous amount of fun.

For the uninitiated, Astro Boy first appeared as a character in a 1951 manga, created by the legendary Japanese animator Osamu Tezuka who has been referred to as the Japanese Walt Disney (with Astro Boy being his Mickey Mouse). The very basic premise in this 2009 film maintains the character of Astro Boy (voiced by Freddie Highmore) as a Pinocchio for the atomic age. Set in a futuristic world where humans and robots co-exists, Astro Boy is created by scientific genius Dr. Tenma (voiced by Nicholas Cage) after the death of his son. However, once Astro Boy is brought to life, Tenma decides that he has made a huge mistake and the boy robot is cast out to fend for himself.

This Astro Boy is overall aimed at younger audiences with the darker aspects of Astro's origins being rather rushed so that the film can arrive at the point where it can start to introduce lighter and more comedic elements. However, there is a lot of humour and a lot of visual gags in Astro Boy which are genuinely funny, so the older audiences won't mind the Saturday morning kids cartoon feel to some of the scenes. Older audiences are particularly going to enjoy the General Stone character (voiced with wicked relish by Donald Sutherland) who is trying to win popular approval by starting a war on false pretences and using slogans such as "It's Not Time For Change!"Directed by David Bowers (Flushed Away) the animation in Astro Boy is not jaw-dropping on its own accord but it does facilitate the storyline and stylistically evokes the original series artwork, with a more modern edge.

Astro Boy does contain several nods to its Japanese origins with the inclusion of a couple of giant robots and the sort of mass metropolitan destruction that features so prominently in post-World War II Japanese popular culture. Nevertheless, the film never gets too dark for its young audience and indeed it is during one of the big carnage scenes that the filmmakers very comically reveal Astro discovering that he has machine guns in his butt. Moments such as this one help to make this new incarnation of Astro Boy a suitably fun and entertaining hero for a new generation.

Astro Boy is a 2009 computer-animated 3-D film loosely based on the long-running Japanese series of the same name by Osamu Tezuka. It was produced by Imagi Animation Studios, the animation production company of TMNT. The studio announced the project in September 2006. It was directed by David Bowers and produced by Maryann Garger with Pilar Flynn as associate producer. Freddie Highmore provides the voice of Astro Boy in the movie. The film also features the voices of Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, Donald Sutherland, and Nicolas Cage. A trailer of the movie was shown in the North American Home Theater of PlayStation Home from December 28, 2008 to January 8, 2009. The movie was released first in Japan on October 10, 2009, and in the US on October 23, 2009.

The film begins in Metro City, a small city that floats above Earth, which is now covered in discarded robot parts. Toby Tenma finishes a physics pop quiz ahead of all his classmates and is free to leave, so he rewires Orrin (the family servant robot) who takes Toby to the Ministry of Science.

Toby’s father, Dr. Tenma, is at the ministry, meeting with President Stone and Dr. Elefun. They have captured two cores of energy, a “positive” (good) core and a “negative” (evil) core. Toby is placed in a room where he is supposed to stay until the end of the demonstration, but he escapes and runs off to the demonstration room.

President Stone orders the Red Core to be placed into a robot called “The Peacekeeper” to power it. The Peacekeeper begins to malfunction and tries to attack the scientists, vaporizing Toby before the adults are able to deactivate the robot.

Soon after, Dr. Tenma is seen holding blueprints of a robot replica of Toby, in hopes of recreating his son. He takes hair from Toby’s hat to access all his memories and place them in the robot. Dr. Elefun provides the Blue Core to power the very advanced Toby robot. The robot Toby comes to life, to the excitement of Dr. Tenma. Tenma then takes Toby home, at first excited to spend time with his son, but he quickly realizes the new Toby is not the same as the old Toby.

Dr. Tenma calls Dr. Elefun, fearing that he may have made a mistake. Dr. Elefun makes a point that Toby cannot be exactly duplicated. Dr. Tenma grieves over the fact that whenever he sees Toby, he is reminded that Toby is really gone and will never come back.

While in his room, Toby worries about his father, since he has never been that angry with him before. While Toby gets into a quarrel with cleaning robots outside his window, he discovers he can understand them but falls out the window only to discover that he can fly.

President Stone discovers Toby’s energy signature and his blue core, and orders his troops to capture it. When Toby returns home he overhears his father talking with Elefun about deactivating Toby. Dr. Tenma reveals that Toby is only just a copy of the original Toby and that he no longer wants him since his face only reminds him of his real son and the pain of losing him. Devastated, Toby flies off but not before Elefun assures him that he has a place somewhere in the world.

Toby is ambushed by military drones. A barrage of missiles temporarily disables Toby, causing him to fall to the Earth’s surface. Toby wakes up on the Earth’s surface, covered in broken robots, where he meets a robot dog named Trashcan. Trashcan leads Toby to a trap where he is wrapped up and captured by a group of kids, but released when he appears to be a human. Toby is then abducted by the “Robot Liberation Front”, who name him “Astro”. They then warn him of Hamegg, who enslaves robots. Cora and the children break in to free Toby/Astro.

Tenma promises to President Stone that he will deactivate Astro when they capture him and give Stone the blue core for the Peacekeeper. Cora takes Astro to their home, filled with tons of children and the Fagin-like ringmaster Hamegg. However, Hamegg isn’t as evil as he seems. Hamegg eagerly welcomes Astro into their family. Later that night, Hamegg talks with Astro and how he used to work in Metro City with Dr. Tenma, but was thrown away due to his “intimidating brilliance”.

The next day while out searching for parts in Brazil, Trashcan tried to tell everyone else that Astro is a robot, but fails. (Trashcan writes on the ground “He’s A Robot” but then one of the kids comments “Makes me wish I knew how to read. “) Astro finds a 100 year old robot named Zog. Using the power of his blue core, Astro revives Zog. They take him back to their home and fix him up for the robot games. But Astro is slightly upset when he discovers that it is a fight to the death. Before the games start, Hamegg electrifies Astro and reveals to everyone that he is a robot. So, Hamegg puts him in the games. At Yankee Stadium, Astro easily clears all the robots but is put up against Zog, who refuses to fight Astro. Hamegg, forcibly tries to get Astro to fight, but Zog attacks him (being over 100 years old, the rules of robots not being allowed to harm humans doesn’t apply to him, since it has been the rule for 50 years). Just then the military arrives and Zog tries to defend Astro, but Astro stops Zog and goes with the military.

Astro is taken back to the lab he was made in and Dr. Elefun tells him that he is wonderful and none of this is his fault, but Astro believes that it is hard to fit in and that perhaps this is his destiny. Dr. Tenma takes out the blue core and apologizes to Astro, who says he shouldn’t be sorry and apologizes for not being a better Toby. Dr. Tenma gives Stone the core, but betrays him and takes it back, putting it in Astro. Astro wakes up wondering why Dr. Tenma has done that, but he replies that even though Astro is not Toby, he is still his son.

Astro escapes so Stone uses the red core to reactivate the Peacekeeper, however, the Peacekeeper absorbs Stone and heads to destroy Astro, with Stone’s mind controling it. With the entire city cleared and the Peacekeeper on the rampage, absorbing every weapon it comes across, Astro flies into the city to protect it from the rampaging behemoth. Meanwhile, Cora and the others hijack Hamegg’s car to head to Metro City and help Astro. In the resulting showdown, the city’s power source is destroyed but Astro manages to hold it up and causing it to land unharmed before continueing his destructive battle with the Peacekeeper. He’s captured by the Peacekeeper but when it tries to absorb him, it doesn’t work. Dr. Tenma tells Astro that if the blue core and red core come together, Astro and the Peacekeeper will die. Knowing that the Peacekeeper must be stopped, even if it means sacrificing himself, Astro flies into the Peacekeeper’s red core, resulting in a massive explosion that completely destroys the Peacekeeper. Stone emerges from the rubble unharmed but is quickly arrested while Astro was deactivated since the blue core was drained in the explosion. But Zog arrives and because he was revived with the blue core, he is able to return some of the energy back to Astro, reactivating him.

Astro finds his place as a hero and everyone rejoices. Cora reunites with her parents. But before any celebrating can happen a large alien attacks the city and Astro, now at peace with his robotic nature and his destiny as a hero, immediately launches into action after reassuring his concerned father, “I was made ready!” The movie ends with Astro flying off to fight off the alien.

In 2009, there are eight movies to be released that are about characters from comics such as Wolverine, Dragonball, Transformers, and Astro Boy just to name a few. In the past three years or so, some more recognizable movies were made about comic book heroes such as Spiderman, Batman, Superman, and who could forget Heath Ledger's appearance as a villain in The Dark Knight. Comic book movies are some of the highest grossing films in Hollywood. The Dark Knight is the highest grossing film coming in at over one billion dollars, $1,001,921,825 to be exact. This movie was comparable, profit wise, to Titanic, The Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The second biggest gross opening day was when Spiderman 3 was released. Opening day for the film acquired close to $60 million. The total gross profit was $890,871,626. Even looking back as far as twelve years ago, Men in Black was released in 1997 and made $589,390,539.

Not only do comic book movies make a lot of money, they can positively affect, change, or launch an actor's career into stardom. Heath Ledger was incredible in the Dark Knight as the Joker character. He had what producers call the chill factor, where you get goose bumps from watching him act, and won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild award, and a Bafta. Critics have been known to say that this role was career defining for him. Will Smith was proven to be a force in the film industry after his role in Men in Black. He became a leading man in Hollywood and starred in other box office hits such as Independence Day. He also starred in another comic book movie, Hancock. Robert Downey Jr's career was brought back to life after he starred as Tony Stark in Ironman.

Astro Boy (Testuwan Atom, lit. "Mighty Atom") is a remake of a 1960 anime series of the same name, both series are adapted from the manga by Osamu Tezuka.

This series, which first aired in the 1980s, placed more focus on Astro's robotic skills and a little darker story than previous incarnations of the series. Although mostly a light heart, the series could be quite gloomy and sad at times. It is not uncommon in a series of robots and human characters that suffer for their deeds or misdeeds of others. Personality and character designs are a bit different from other versions of the series.

The series ran for 52 episodes (edited down to 51 episodes for the English version). There are two different English dubs: coordinated Tezuka Pro version. and NTV, and dubbed in the U.S. in 1982, which aired in Australia in early 1983, became very popular. The same version of the series is a very limited release in the U.S. (emissions in the United States were limited to syndication in some markets such as Wilmington Phildelphia-area where the broadcast at 10:30 on weekdays in 1986 in what was then WTGI -- - Channel 61)

Based on the work of Japanese comic artist and animator Osamu Tezuka, this CGI version of what is widely regarded as the first anime is mostly faithful to the beloved character. First published in 1952 and animated 1963, the future is set Astro Boy is the story of Dr. Tenma (voice of Nicolas Cage), a top scientist at the Ministry of Science, whose son, Toby (Freddie Highmore) dies in a tragic accident. Fueled by grief, Tenma builds a super-powered robot in the likeness of his son Toby are built in memory. Although the robot Astro has all his son's curiosity, intelligence and warmth, Dr. Tenma realizes that his son can not be replaced, and he cruel expulsion from the Ministry of Science, creating the Astro Pinocchio complex, where all he wants is to be understood as a real boy.

While the Ministry of Science there is an idyllic, floating island-in-the-sky Metro City, Astro finds exiled to the surface world, a Wall-E-like landscape of mountains made of discarded robot parts, which are populated by orphans. A group of children led by Cora (Kristen Bell) Astro and friends take him to see Hamegg (Nathan Lane), a businessman and entertainer cast-off from Metro City Dr. Tenma itself. Hamegg turns out to be more than a little interested in the Astro as president of Stone (Donald Sutherland), head of Metro City, which seeks to military conflict, in order to rally public support for his re-election. The nod to U.S. military sensibility (which will sail right over the heads of children in the audience), the stone travels to a war ship called the Spirit of Freedom, and to Astro Energy Blue Core Tenma, who installed a robot in your body for use in war, robot called Peacekeeper.

While earlier versions of Astro Boy him gallivanting around in metallic green shorts, red boots and nothing else, this time around Astro actually gets to wear clothes. But there hiding, his character is subdued as well. No more Astro wildly curious and playful. He was much more subdued. Even when he comes into trouble, he is doing his best to set things right. In fact, his character is very much in line with figures Freddie Highmore, who played in the past, such as Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland in Peter - good little boys who are good at heart. And while it fits the character of Astro Boy, it does not make the most entertaining films.
It should be noted that the action in Astro Boy is pretty great. There are lots of explosions and high-flying theatrics to deal with children. However, compared to a very fun and funny Flushed Away, previous efforts directed by David Bowers, Astro Boy's humor is forced, lead and groan-inducing. Which means that for adults, Astro Boy is the only ... ok.

Comic relief is largely committed to a group of robots who call themselves Robot Revolutionary Front (RRF), who are trying to operate from Astro far Hamegg. In one scene, RRF (Sparx, Robotsky and Mike Fridge or played by Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy and Bowers) lame cardboard don disguises, and when they are ready for "change" (get it?) Of their costumes are whirring, grinding noise with their mouths. (Lame.) other comic relief comes from two robots in a spray bottle and a window pane, called Mr. spurt (David Alan Grier) and Mr. squeegee (Alan Tudyk) who inexplicably keep showing up. (In the meantime, the best voice in the cast, Samuel L. Jackson, gets two lines. That's it.) There are some attempts to visual humor for adults, such as a book called the philosopher Descartes Before Horse (Ouch.), but this simply is not enough .

By the end, Astro saved the day and all is right in this world of the future. But it should not have come as a surprise. Unless you have a child. Indeed, it is the only demographic that should be watching this film.

Astro Boy was created when an accident results in death of robotics in the world's most brilliant scientist's son. Dr. Tenma (Nicolas Cage), in a fit of desperation, used his son with the DNA to the most powerful robot world has ever known (in a world filled with robots), complete with memories of his son.

Unfortunately, the new Toby, while the memories and DNA-product disposition (I think) and old Toby, however, is quite different "boy." He works with a different character, and simply has other influences on him as a "person." For Dr. Tenma is a horror, it turned out that instead of bringing his boy back, he only managed to create a "live" representation of non-Tobyness, and he He left his son's death more haunted than before.

Toby learns that his father wants to be deactivated. At the same time, the evil president of Metro City learned that the blue core (just play along) was destroyed in the initial experiment gone wrong, and in fact supply Toby. Unwanted by his father, and all too much like President Stone, Toby accidentally escape to our little tedious Pleasure Island, which is the planetary surface. We discovered that Metro City is a floating city, and that the planet's surface is mostly a waste of note that Metro City just chucks the ship.

Toby is a group of orphans led by tech robot Ham eggs (and yes, the events will take place in a sort of "theater" angle), and like everyone else on the surface, to a group of unwanted and outcast trying to make do with what they can.

Events at this moment so much sweat as you might imagine a lot of onions perspective, but relevant result here is not what happens, but as it happens. Although only occasionally funny, Astro Boy is more fun than anything of a mile the whole year. Your child will not burst into laughter every few minutes, but instead to inch forward in his seat, his eyes bulging, filled with a kind of miracle is rarely witnessed outside Ralphie looks through the window to store in Red Rider.

Even the slower pieces of exposure control that perfect balance of conversation with children, no talk to them, and the work necessary steps as the plot of the book simply can not put down.

It is an interesting statement that animated films aimed at children (and movies aimed at children in general) largely moved away from really making any attempt to "exciting." Even the best of them are just fun and funny, maybe slightly adventurous, but not tense. Children May want to go and buy all the toys when the thing is over, but they are not spent. May they imagine the characters flying off to save the day, even, but they do not fly alone. Astro Boy is hard to describe without using the word "exciting." This is the wonder of the corresponding pair of eyes, and a roller-coaster, I do not particularly inspire each May require a certain toy, or laugh (technically), but will move up to dance, hop, noise, and scream their way back into line.
